Best Coffee Creamer Alternatives

Today we’re talking about some of the best coffee creamer alternatives because coffee creamers like Coffee Mate are bad news for your health.

Coffee Mate creamer and its 25 flavors have a market value of $18.5 billion dollars and are expected to climb to $28.39 billion dollars by 2030. This is very bad news for those who put Coffee-Mate in their coffee. Why? Because it means that more people are going to be moving further away from real food and closer to artificial chemically engineered pseudo foods.

Vegan Coffee Creamers

In reading through the market research as to why Coffee Mate is going to continue to explode, the explanation is that people are having an increased preference for vegan products and they are becoming more and more health conscious. The idea is that because something is vegan it is healthy. This could not be farther from the truth.

The vegan label when it comes to food usually means the substance has been highly processed and refined in an effort to make it look and feel like an animal product without it being an animal product.

Coffee-Mate and its buddies in the creamer industry tout their non- dairy, reduced fat, sugar free creamers, as promoting health, by utilizing corn syrup, hydrogenated vegetable oils, artificial flavors, gels, gums, sucralose, acesulfame potassium and GMO maltodextrin.

This is so far from health yet people fall for it every morning.

What we do daily has the greatest effect in shifting our health trajectory.

Coffee and Coffee creamer is a daily habit for most people.  Instead of the vegan creamers, I suggest giving one of the following a try.

Healthy Dairy Coffee Creamers

If you are not dairy sensitive and do not want to drink your organic coffee black, then I would suggest the following:

  • Organic heavy cream
  • Grass-fed butter
  • Half & half
  • Full fat raw milk.  Ideally the A2/A2 variety and if you have a trusted source, go raw dairy as well.
  • Goat milk is also a great option if you don’t do well with cow milk.

You can also add some honey, maple syrup or stevia if the dairy creamer by itself isn’t sweet enough.  This is health accumulation not an all or nothing mindset.

Healthy Non-Dairy Coffee Creamers

If you are dairy sensitive, but still want a creamy texture to your coffee then consider:

  • Coconut cream
  • Organic hemp milk. The hemp milk will have omega-3 fatty acid and some protein content.

Oat milk and rice milk are sure to spike your blood sugar so I would pass on those. There are so many brands on the non-dairy side and it seems like they change their ingredients all the time, so I am not going to give any names, but I would look for ones without vegetable oils (canola, soy, corn, sunflower, safflower oils), artificial flavors and make sure it is organic, because otherwise these nut and grain- based creamers are going to be loaded with pesticides.

If you are using creamer on a daily or multiple times per day basis, then you want to be mindful of the direction you’re taking your health. Check out the post, How to make coffee a healthy daily habit.

Rarely, do I find coffee by itself to be the issue holding a person back from experiencing improved health and body composition, it is what is being added to the coffee that is the issue.

Have you made the switch to one of these coffee creamer alternatives?
